This bill requires Dept. of State Lands to permit low impact wetland for housing development.

Personal Choice and Responsibility
Wetlands that do not contribute to responsible habitat should be reconsidered for housing development.

Limited Government
Allows better utilization of marginal wetlands and expands housing as needed.

Local Control
Removes government protection of wetlands that do not contribute to good habitat. Low impact wetlands can simply be swamps that harbor insects and diseases, and will make for a healthier community if developed.

Comments

  1. Upon deciding to locate to Oregon for our retirement on of our options was to build us a forever home. One piece of property was very nice except for one thing, it had what was described as a seasonal lake. The property was 1.75 acres and with the setasides, for the seasonal lake ( wetlands ) we could not even use and 1/8 of an acre. Needless to say, that project died.
