This bill would require manufactures to label digital products with warnings of any possible health risks. According to WHO and International Journal of Health Sciences, find there could be risk, but studies have not determined there to be any. This is a bill that is chasing a rainbow that would have manufactures add more cost to a product when there are no studies to state a health risk to using a cell phone! Where are manufactures going to get Health risks, when there is no known risks other that heat, which is minimal with a Cell phone! Considering the massive cell phone usage, where are all the health risk cases from their usage? Is this not a bill to identify a problem that does not exist? The Oregon Health Authority!
Personal Choice and Responsibility
If Oregonians fear Cell phones, then do not use them, but to have Oregon demand manufactures to put imagined health risks on products, they will either not sell their products in Oregon or will sue Oregon for prof of Health Risks.
Why would a manufacture put separate labels on product to satisfy the Oregon Health Authority. This would add cost to products sold in Oregon.
“Digital product” includes, but is not limited to, wireless cellular telephones and digital screen devices that emit radiation.
From Mayo Clinic:The possible connection between cellphones and cancer is controversial. Many years’ worth of studies on cellphones and cancer have yielded conflicting results. Currently, there’s no consensus about the degree of cancer risk — if any — posed by cellphone use. From the American Cancer Society: the RF waves given off by cell phones don’t have enough energy to damage DNA directly or to heat body tissues. Because of this, it’s not clear how cell phones might be able to cause cancer. Most studies done in the lab have supported the idea that RF waves do not cause DNA damage.
