SB 306 banning use of dogs to hunt cougars

This bill makes counties exempt from the state statute banning the use of dogs to hunt cougars. Voters in a county must approve the measure by initiative petition or referral by governing body of a county.

If approved by county voters will remove ORS 498.164 as related to cougars

Places cougar control back into the hands counties affected by increasing cougar populations.
