This bill urges Congress to enact Green New Deal legislation along the lines of the proposed Green New Deal in order to respond to the climate emergency.
Personal Choice and Responsibility
Concept or not, this bill promotes a communistic type of socialism that isn’t what America represents nor do Oregonians want.
Fiscal Responsibility
Feasibly an economic disaster that is not in the best interest of Oregon or Oregonians.
Limited Government
This request to Congress goes beyond the Green New Deal bill, which is only a concept, but this bill is actually saying that what is best for Oregonians is no air travel replaced with high-speed rail, less cars and gas run equipment, upgrade industry and homes with high-tech electricity, convert ranches to something with less green-gas emissions. Key goals include cutting greenhouse-gas emissions to net zero over 10 years and guaranteeing jobs, quality healthcare, and higher education for all.
Excuse Me. I thought this was the Oregon legislature. This so-called environmental emergency is nothing of the sort. We have been hearing doomsday scenarios for decades now and the end of the world has not happened yet. As a matter of fact, if you eliminate all the climatologists that get government money for study after study you will find NO consensus at all. Climate change is what the earth does every day since the beginning of time.
Oregon, which has 4 out of 5 govt positions held by women, have once again created a solution and the then tacked AOC’s Green NEW Deal to it as the problem. Which only goes to prove that females can make just as bad decisions as males.
This isn’t a female/male issue. After all the men are blindly following. They have been brainwashed to think that power and control is the battle they are fighting and could care less about We the People.
What does that even mean ? This “plan” is not in the best interest of the people of Oregon as it is just another program for wealth redistribution. Read the ” Evergreen New Deal” in Capital Press vol 92, no 13. As a rural small timber land owner I am at a loss as to how to maintain my forest without my machinery, which alas is ALL fossil fuel based. When the price of fuel goes up, that money goes where in this program? Finally, you are right, this is not a male vs female issue, and since the state is in control, the folks that do control need to step up and take responsibility for ALL consequences both intended and unintended…
I call this one the new green steal. Force this grab bag of unproven fixes on all of us to get all our green.
