This bill amends the constitution to approve real estate transfer taxes, exempting the first $500K, and will use the revenue to fund “affordable” housing.

Personal Choice and Responsibility
The voters passed Measure 79 in 2012 which made real estate transfer taxes illegal, except in Washington County, where they were grandfathered in. This is just the latest round of government knowing better than the citizens.

Fiscal Responsibility
This can only increase the price of housing, which is in very short supply in this state.

Limited Government
This is a great example of the government having only one answer to a problem: More money.

Comments

  1. Brilliant; lets make it more expensive for people to buy a home because we have an unaffordable housing crisis. Yet they cant see that these are the kind of policies that LEAD to unaffordable housing?
