SJR 7 Allows impeachment of Elected officials

This bill amends the Oregon Constitution to allow impeachment of Statewide elected official by the House, that they be tried in the Senate, and convicted by a three-fifths vote.

Limited Government
Currently, Oregon does not have an impeachment process. We only have a recall process.

  1. Well let me guess… since the tyrants are in the majority, they won’t let this bill proposal see the light of day. That’s a shame.

  2. Two things to note on this bill: Three-fifths of the House must vote to impeach; two-thirds (not three-fifths as stated here) must vote to convict.

  3. Dangerous Precedent! Terrible potential for One Political Party to Rid itself of an Opposing Political Party.
