Committee assigned to bill:https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2019R1/Committees/HREV/Overview

This bill removes the discount for timely payment of taxes on commercial and industrial property.

Personal Choice and Responsibility
Consumers will bear the expense through higher prices.

Fiscal Responsibility
The state will gain revenue and the citizen will pay for the gain. Law allows a 3% discount if property taxes are paid by November 15, or 2% if two/thirds is paid. This bill removes the discount for business property, thus raising the rent on all business impacting small business the most.

Free Markets
This will make the total tax more costly and therefore require some increase in service/goods market price.
