HB 2567A Requires 60 Day Notice to Employee of Termination

This bill (A-Engrossed) requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60 days’ notice to employees and certain officials before ceasing operations, relocating or ordering mass layoff involving 50 or more employees. Provides that employer is liable for back pay and benefits to employee.

Limited Government
Enlarges government to manage compliance under this bill. Creates exceptions that requires employer who is actively pursuing capital or business to provide, under penalty of perjury, written documentation of efforts to court or Commissioner of Bureau of Labor and Industries.

Free Markets
Another anti-business bill adding regulations to interfere with the conduct of business. It has the potential for businesses to leave the state before they can remedy a financial setback to avoid penalties under this bill. Employee recourse may also cause termination of more employees when a company is financially strapped.

    What madness!  This legislature is trying to become a socialist state in so many ways.  There has to be a way to put a stop to this.
