Committee assigned to bill: https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2023R1/Committees/HRULES/Overview

This bill ends automatic voter registration through Oregon Motor Voter. Reestablishes process of registration at any office of Department of Transportation where licenses or renewal applications are distributed or received that existed prior to enactment of Oregon Motor Voter.

The bill removes electronic reporting to the Secretary of State of every name, age, signature, residence and citizenship information, and the process for transferring it to county clerks. Instead, DMV offices will make voter registration cards available and deliver them to the county clerk in a timely manner.

The department shall develop a driver license issuance or renewal and voter registration application procedure and a state identification card issuance and voter registration application procedure that allows an applicant to register to vote, which complies with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. Signatures may only be used for voter registration purposes.

Driver’s license applications and renewals will contain an option to register to vote while applying or renewing a license, but they will not be automatically registered without their signature.

Automatic voter registration increases the number of unused ballots that can be fraudulently harvested.

(Same as HB 2233)

OH YES, ABSOLUTELY THIS MUST END! We are wasting ballots being mailed to people that don’t want them, and what happens to them? Some people have sold their ballots for cash, and where is our VOTER INTEGRITY ON THAT?

THIS STATE IS PASSING OUT BALLOTS LIKE CRAZY. I would love to BAN VOTE-BY-MAIL All together! I prefer to vote on election day in person and ballots being counted by hand AND NOT MACHINES. Too much manipulation going on in Oregon and it needs to stop!

I SAY VOTE YES! ON SB 2233 and save Oregon in so many ways!

This system is not reliable, and there is not accountability for who the registrations actually go to. My two 16-year-old kids both got their Oregon driver’s licenses, one child got a voter registration card for when he is 18, the other did not get one. Who received it?

I support the bill – This is a waste of paper and an open invitation for persons in our country illegally to vote in our country They should not have a say if they are not legal citizens. Period.
