TTV Analysis

HB 2718 increases annual registration fees and inspection fees for fertilizer products partially to fund faculty position at College of Agricultural Sciences of OSU. No Committee Date Set Doubles fees on fertilizer, agricultural amendment and agricultural mineral inspection, of which a portion is used for funding faculty position with College of Agricultural Sciences of OSU. Most agriculture is done in rural areas where the economy hasn't improved to absorb a doubling of fees. Adds faculty position to develop strategy for nutrient management and water resource protection, and provide crop-specific recommendations to be established by the dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences and the Fertilizer Research and Education Committee. Funding faculty to do what the grants can accomplish at the expense of our farming industry is another tax in disguise that will filter down in food prices.
