HB 2932 Prohibits asking defendant’s immigration status

This bill prohibits court from asking defendant’s immigration status or requiring defendant to disclose defendant’s immigration status at time of plea or at any other time during criminal proceeding, but allows additional time for plea after informed of adverse immigration consequences.

Gagging judges endangers Oregonians’ lives and puts criminal aliens above the rule of law. It threatens all Oregonians including the immigrant community.
