This bill allows unqualified physicians to provide release for athlete who sustained concussion or is suspected of sustaining concussion
Personal Choice and Responsibility
The bill expands the personal choice beyond the training that they are provided with. After discussing this with a physician I was told”neither has appropriate training, unequivocally no”. Further discussions with a neurological nurse and two staff members of the Oregon Medical Association confirmed what the physician told me.
Limited Government
The government is exceeding its authority by not researching the qualifications of the physicians named in this legislation.
