SB 248 authorizes State Forester to enter into and administer contracts for activities necessary or convenient for sales of timber from lands owned or managed by State Board of Forestry or State Forestry Department.

The is the State using Natural resources for their own use without being encomberd by the mining rules that apply to commercial gravel pits.

SB 248 will enhance Logging operations.

Gravel pits was added to the legislation. Gravel pits that will be developed and operated by the State Forester will be for road gravel only in State Forests, non-commercial use and are exempt from DOGAMI rules.
