Raises the annual fee amount that the PUC may impose on public utilities to cover costs of the commission. Takes effect when the Governor signs it.

Increases the annual fee amount that the Public Utility Commission may impose on public utilities for the purpose of defraying costs of the commission. Amends ORS 756.310 to increase the maximum annual fee that the PUC may assess on the gross operating revenues of regulated utilities from the current cap of 0.45% to 0.55%. Declares an emergency, effective on passage.

HB 2370 allows the PUC to continue current programs as well as fund requested policy option packages within the 2025-27 GRB.

PUC needs to readjust policies to not force Oregonians away from less expensive energy and allow freedom to choose, then these increases would not be needed. Especially at a time when inflation is eating up our income, policies should be put on a hold status.

  1. Oregon utility ratepayers have been hit with double digit rate increases already. The last thing they need is another gut punch like this. Between settlements to wildfire victims and the so called “green energy infrastructure,” ratepayers are being soaked to the point of saturation! NO MORE RATE INCREASES FOR CLIMATE CHANGE NONSENSE!!!
