Sen. Sollman (D, SD15), and Reps. McLain (D, HD29), and Sosa (D, HD30) will be holding a joint town hall on Mon., Aug. 18th at the Hillsboro Civic Center Auditorium (150 E Main St) from 6 – 8 pm.
Be sure to thank them all for your increased costs of living here in Oregon and the loss of businesses (a.k.a. job providers) Oregon continues to suffer thanks to the unfriendly business climate the legislature continues to create in Oregon.
Rep. McLane says in her newsletter “Our biggest funding source, the gas tax, is outdated and doesn’t meet our 21st century needs.” Um, as of 2024, there were only 9 states with higher gas taxes than Oregon. And as we’re sure you know; Oregon’s gas prices are always higher than our neighbors to the East of us. Either way, you can bet she’ll be voting for the increases in taxes and fees they have in the bill for the Special Session. Ask these fine folks why they didn’t take any suggestions from the Republicans who offered ways to fund ODOT without raising taxes and fees on us.
