HB 3789A Falsely representing a union

04/07/2025

The Act makes it unlawful for a person to falsely impersonate a union representative. The Act says that the union has the sole right to decide its own representatives based on its own rules. The Act allows a union to file a lawsuit against a person who breaks the law for $6,250 per incident.

(c) “Falsely impersonate a union representative” means to use fraud or misrepresentation to make a verbal or written communication that purports to be authorized or otherwise approved by a labor organization but that has not, in fact, been authorized or approved by the labor organization.

This bill is not about impersonating a union representative. This bill is about censorship of the truth and stifling freedom of speech informing public employees about their rights against unfair labor practices by the unions which take thousands of
dollars out of their already low salary paychecks.

This also affects teachers that need to know and understand how Teachers Unions decide what is best for the individual educator.
