The Act makes changes to a law about groups that work on health equity. Requires the Oregon Health Authority to adjust for inflation the amount of any grant awarded to a regional health equity coalition. Declares an emergency, effective July 1, 2025.
This bill will raise medical costs automatically without consideration or representation required to include, We the People.
The authority shall work with regional health equity coalitions, using a regional health equity coalition model, to ensure service to priority populations throughout this state.
The authority shall provide grants to regional health equity coalitions for programmatic and staffing costs. These grants shall be adjusted annually for cost of living.
There is no ongoing accountability to continue grants indefinitely without reevaluation. Grants should only be approved for one biennium and then audited for accountability. The state must stop the waste of taxpayer funds, and this is poor fiscal responsibility.
Amendment -1, removes the COI and lets the legislature determine increase based on inflation. That’s a facing face instead of withdrawing the bill because that is what they do now. The bill simply adds words to Oregon statues, which is already bloated.
