Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children

The Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 8:10 AM.

The Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children will conduct June 13, 2024 in the Public Service Building, 255 Capitol Street NE, Salem, OR. A streaming link for this meeting will be made available on the State Board Video Streaming page. Members of the public wishing to physically observe may also do so. Please check in with ODE staff on the 4^th floor for more information.

Agendas and materials for Compact meetings will be posted at least 24 hours prior to the board meeting and can be accessed at Boardbook.

Public Comment

The public comment process allows members of the public to provide testimony on items before the Compact, or to raise issues to the attention of the Compact and Agency Director. It allows the Compact an opportunity to actively listen to and reflect on public feedback, and the Compact may ask staff to respond to public comments or questions raised during the public comment period after the meeting. It does not allow an opportunity for dialogue between the speaker, Compact, or Director during the meeting, nor does it replace existing complaints processes.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit written comments or testimony in advance to StateBoard.PublicEmail@ode.oregon.gov, or by mail to the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, 255 Capitol Street NE, Salem, OR 97310. Please note that submitting comment prior to the meeting allows the Compact more time to review and consider.

• Clearly label the subject line as: “Public comment:” followed by the agenda item referred to. Agenda items can be found on Boardbook.
• All written public comment will be posted to Boardbook.
• In order to avoid opening up the public comment period, the Compact will not entertain testimony on a proposed rule after the public comment period has closed on the agenda.
• Public comments or testimony submitted the morning of the Compact meeting will be posted to Boardbook within 48 business hours.
