The Special Session for Transportation funding has been postponed again due to Sen Gorsek still being in the hospital. It is now scheduled to be held on Sept 29th, during the first of Legislative Days meeting dates.
The Senate needs 18 votes to pass this tax hike, so Democrats need all 18 of their members present to pass this bill. This could have been prevented, had Democrats come to the table and considered Republicans’ alternative plan to fund ODOT by refocusing existing revenue instead of adding billions of dollars in new taxes onto struggling Oregonians.
Oregonians cannot afford more taxes and fees to be taken out of their wallets. We’re already one of the highest taxed states in America. This bill will increase the cost of everything we buy in Oregon due to the increased cost of shipping things here because of higher gas prices – which will be passed on to us by higher prices on everything.
Send BCC emails (even if you’ve sent emails already) to these Senators telling them to vote NO on this bill; we can’t afford higher prices on everything.
