This bill requires a school district to reimburse parent or foster parent for reasonable expenses incurred by parent or foster parent while student was placed on abbreviated school day program in violation of requirements for program as determined by the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Correction and administration should be held at the school board level. The state is way too involved in local responsibilities.

The threat may have the effect of schools not offering the option of an abbreviated day. Since this doesn’t relate to discipline, and abbreviate day is only an option for learning reasons, and since the school team is required to offer a non-abbreviated option anyway, why would they want to risk the heavy hand of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
