Rep. Tawna Sanchez (D, HD43) will be having a Town Hall with Sen. Lew Frederick (D, SD22) , and Reps. Travis Nelson (D, HD44) at Alberta Abbey, 126 NE Alberta St.
Here’s one of the bills she’s working on, forms a new alert system for certain missing persons – how is this not discrimination?
“HB 3198 – Addressing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) Establishing an Office of MMIR, this bill seeks to enhance investigations, improve resources, and create a Missing Indigenous Person Alert system in collaboration with tribal communities. Your input and involvement in shaping these policies are invaluable. Let’s come together to build a more inclusive, equitable, and just Oregon.”
Another bill she wants to push puts more restrictions on landlords. What about the housing shortage? Laws like this is another reason why most landlords won’t do leases any more.
“HB 2134 – Early Lease Termination for Tenants Filed as an emergency, which means we cant vote it out. Grants tenants the right to end their lease early without penalty if the landlord gives notice to terminate the lease, offering more flexibility and protection to renters.” What about protection for landlords and their property????? Why do landlords have to give tenants a 90 day notice to vacate, but tenants are only required to give landlords 30 day notice – where’s the equity in that??
Be sure to ask them about these upcoming proposed bills and how they plan to vote on them…
