The Act gives money to the parole board to get rid of the sex offender risk assessment backlog.
Appropriates moneys to the State Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision for purposes of eliminating the backlog of sex offenders who have not yet been assessed and placed into a risk level.
This bill ensures that the backlog of 12,000 unregistered sex offenders is completed, was read for the first time on the House floor. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. HB 3952 commits to standing with victims, holding perpetrators accountable, and restoring justice.
Earlier this session, Governor Kotek pushed several bills in the Senate (819, 820, and 821), that would have stopped more than 12,000 sex offenders from being appropriately categorized and added to the state’s public sex offender registry, fortunately, those bills died on the president’s desk last week.
