SB 821 takes away the deadline for the parole board to assess some sex offenders into a risk level. The Act also repeals the sunset on the law that makes the board report to the legislature on risk level assessments every two years.
SB 820 changes when the parole board is required to classify some sex offenders.
At the request of Governor Kotek, repeals Oregon laws that requires registration/reporting of sex offenders, reduces parole board supervision of sex offenders and eliminates the deadline for the parole board to assess the risk level of sex offenders released into society.
