Senator Jeff Merkley will be holding two town halls on Sat., Feb. 22 in Tillamook and Clatsop Counties with Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. He’ll hold a third town hall by himself at Columbia County. The schedule is listed below.
Merkley voted against the Laken Riley Act when it was first introduced, and he didn’t vote on it at all on Wed., Jan 22. Why is he not protecting US citizens, and why was he missing in action?
Bonamici is a big fan of the Department of Education and is criticizing the Trump Administration for their efforts to dismantle it, saying it “plays a vital role in the Nation’s system of public education…”. Has she not heard that Oregon is one of the worst ranking states for public education?
She’s also introduced the Stop Anti-Abortion Disinformation (SAD) Act to crack down on the use of misleading advertising and disinformation by crisis pregnancy centers. According to Bonamici, crisis pregnancy centers often falsely and deliberately advertise themselves to potential clients as comprehensive reproductive health care providers. Isn’t that what the abortion clinic Planned Parenthood does??
